Nigeria’s national teams are set for a change of kit supplier, with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) agreeing a new partnership with Adidas.
The deal, which takes effect from 2027, is reportedly worth $8.5 million annually, comprising $4.5 million in cash and $4 million in kits, equipment and apparel. The agreement also includes a 20 per cent royalty on official Adidas merchandise sold through its retail outlets in Nigeria.
The deal represents a significant increase on Nigeria’s existing arrangement with Nike, which has supplied the country’s national teams since 2015.
Outgoing NFF president Ibrahim Gusau had previously criticised the Nike agreement, describing its financial terms as inadequate and claiming the federation received just $500,000 in cash and $1 million in equipment annually under the arrangement.
Adidas’ return marks the end of an 11-year Nike era that produced several memorable Nigeria kits, including the hugely popular 2018 World Cup shirt.
The new agreement will cover Nigeria’s national teams and gives the NFF a substantially larger commercial package as it begins a new chapter with Adidas.
